I'm a Philadelphia-based photographer, activist, and graphic designer. I've been shooting photos since 2004, when I got my first SLR camera. My goal with my activist photography is to capture the emotion of a moment, while keeping true to the purpose of the action.
Besides activist photography, I love to capture texture, patterns, gradients, and shapes in architecture and nature. My camera comes on every adventure I have. And I have a lot of adventures!
I do graphic design work not only because it's fun, but also to make a living so I can be an activist with ACT UP Philadelphia on the side. Some have called me the "graphic designer to the AIDS activist movement". I'm not sure I deserve that honor, but I do love being able to see my work in action, literally.
You can reach me at kaytee.riek@gmail.com. I'll get back to you right away! Want to buy my work? You can do it easily on redbubble.com.
I'm available to photograph your fundraiser, protest, conference, training - anything really! I'm based in Philadelphia, but I can travel anywhere around the mid-Atlantic area.
Do you need design work done for a flier, sign, invitation, annual report or basically anything else? I'm available! Since graphic design can be done anywhere, you do not need to be based in Philly or the mid-Atlantic for me to work with you.
Shoot me an email and I'll send you a quote. To give you an idea of what it costs, I usually charge around $50/hour, but this is negotiable depending on the budget of the group hiring me. My rate is negotiable so that smaller-budget organizations can still afford to bring in an experienced photographer/graphic designer, and I can still eke out a living. So send me an email with your budget and I'll let you know how we can make it work.
