How can you not be inspired by #OccupyWallSt? Seeing people from all different backgrounds come together to demand real radical change... it gives me goosebumps! I've been down to the one in Philly a few times taking photos. It's gorgeous. So, in honor of what some are calling "America's Autumn", which I think is a bit complicated, and also because it's Fall - a time of sweaters, and hiking in the woods, and pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins - I bring you October's free desktop wallpaper, featuring PUMPKINS! Happy Autumn (whether it's America's or not is up to you) everyone.

First off, sorry for no wallpaper in July. I got a new puppy that took up a bit more energy that I was expecting. Now that things have calmed down a bit, I was able to pull together another free wallpaper! This one is inspired in part by the ongoing uprisings going on all over the world, but particularly in the UK. I don't know how I feel about the tactics that people are using, but the reasons are so clear why people would feel they have no other choice. When your community is unable to get ahead through structural racism, you eventually have to respond out out of love for your community. So this month's wallpaper is of smoke rising, and it happens to have a heart in it. I'm not usually this sappy, but this image happened to work out that way!

You know the song, "Taking it to the Streets"? I love that song. Because to me, getting people out on the street demanding justice is what it will take to really improve people's lives. So, this month's background is the street - literally. It's one of my favorite photographs, and I'vereally enjoyed having it on my iPhone for a few months as the background. Its a constant reminder that getting out on the street isn't just an option - it's one of the best tools we have to make our lives better. I hope you'll find the same inspiration. See you on the streets!

I was inspired by spending a week with some amazing activists when I made this. I love the Dr. King quote! My good friend Jennifer Flynn-Walker shared this quote with me a few months ago. I hope you love it as much as I do!
